Jacksonville Lunas Hockey Program
Introducing the Jacksonville Lunas, the all female hockey program of Community First Igloo located in Jacksonville, Florida. Proud affiliates of the Jr.Icemen and partners of the Positive Coaching Alliance.
The Jacksonville Lunas are dedicated to providing female hockey players with age-appropriate, elite programming, fostering an environment where every player can realize their potential and pursue their dreams. Through a combination of discovery, learning, and guidance, our aim is to not only develop better athletes but also better individuals, fostering lifelong memories, friendships, and a love for the game.
The Lunas had a standout season, with the 12U team earning an impressive second-place finish at the 2024–25 SGHL Championships for the second consecutive year, while the 14U team captured the championship title after an undefeated season.
"We're thrilled with the ongoing growth of the girls' game and the incredible strides made by the Lunas girls in just one season," said Amanda Michaud, Head Coach of the Lunas program. "The progress is truly remarkable, and we're committed to maintaining this momentum and fostering further growth in the upcoming season."
Our Mission
We are committed to providing beginners to experienced female hockey players with age-appropriate, elite programming that allows all players the opportunity to reach their potential and pursue their dreams. Through discovery, learning and guidance we will develop better athletes and better people while creating lifelong memories, friendships and fans of the game.
A luna wolf is the alpha female of the pack. She's the female counterpart to the alpha male. The luna wolf is the only one who leads but will get help from other female wolves in the pack. The word luna means “moon” in Latin, and the luna wolf symbolizes the moon's cycles of change.
Fall Travel teams for the 2025–26 season will compete in the SFGHL and SGHL, with the 14UAA Lunas participating in the SFGHL as well as select NGHL events/tournaments.
