The Brooks IceBreakers
An all-ages sled hockey team sponsored by Brooks Rehabilitation
The Brooks IceBreakers is one of five adaptive sports which are part of the Brooks Adaptive Sports & Recreation program. We welcome individuals with any limitation/diagnosis that affects mobility and prevents participation in stand-up hockey/activities. Our team practices throughout the year at the Community First Igloo, home of the Jacksonville Icemen.
Brooks Rehab IceBreakers
Sled hockey is an adaptation of ice hockey for individuals with physical disability.
Sled hockey provides opportunities for many types of disabilities at the local level for recreation/competition, all the way to teams that play in World Championships and the Paralympics.
The Brooks IceBreakers are an inclusive team comprising both children and adults with diverse abilities, making them an exceptional team. Brooks Rehabilitation provides all necessary equipment at no cost, and no prior experience is required to participate. Monthly practices are held on Saturdays at the Community First Igloo.
