Code of Conduct

  1. Players will strive to be Triple Impact Competitors
  2. No swearing or abusive or insensitive language on the bench, locker room, in the rink, or at any team function directed towards a teammate, opponent, parent, coach etc.
  3. Fighting, attempting to injure or dangerous actions will not be tolerated.
  4. There will be no alcohol, tobacco, vaping and or use of illegal substances at any team function.
  5. Players, parents and coaches will represent the club, themselves and family in a positive manner at all facilities (ice rink, hotel, restaurants, etc.) during any team function.
  6. Players, parents and coaches who cannot abide by these rules or who violate them will be subject to the Discipline Policy and disciplinary action.
  7. All players, parents and coaches are under the rules and policies put forth in the USA Hockey Rules & Resources guidebook.

Locker Room Standards

Players will follow the player code of conduct and in addition the below locker room standards.

  1. No player(s) is allowed in the locker room without a safesport certified locker room monitor
  2. No player is allowed to be in a locker room alone with a locker room monitor. There must be 2 or more players in the room.
  3. There is zero tolerance for any physical, sexual, verbal, bullying abuse and misconduct.
  4. There is zero tolerance for using any electronic communication devices allowed in the locker room and adhere to the electronic communications policy.
  5. The player is expected to be a triple impact competitor and show respect for themselves, teammates and the game at all times.
  6. The player is expected to be respectful to all coaches, team managers, locker room monitors and any other team personnel in or around the locker room and team.

Practice Standards

  1. Attend all Off Ice & On Ice practices.
  2. Bring a positive attitude and outstanding effort to all practices.
  3. Players wear Igloo/Icemen Jerseys for all practices.
  4. Players should have full equipment 5 minutes before the start time.
  5. Players should bring a water bottle on to ice for practice.
  6. Players do not leave on or off ice practice without notifying a coach.
  7. Players adhere to all rules and regulations of USA Hockey and the Igloo/Jr.Icemen Hockey Club.

Player Infractions

Below are guidelines for coaches to ensure the safety and proper competition level in practice.

Offender - a player that uses their stick or body in a dangerous manner that puts another player in a compromising situation whether there is intent or not.

1st infraction - coach will talk with the player on the incident and help guide the player to learn from the situation. Pointing out what the infraction was and the mistake made and have the player understand what other ways they can handle the situations.

2nd infraction - if the incident is similar in nature to the 1st infraction, the player is penalized 2,4,5 minutes and sits the time out from practice. The coach will discuss the infraction with the player and let them know what the penalty is, why it's a penalty and ensure the player serves the penalty time like they would in a game.

3rd infraction - if the incident is similar to the first 2 infractions or of intent to injure, the player will sit out the rest of the drill or rest of the practice depending on the severity of the incident. The lead coach will also speak with the player and parent following the practice about the situation.

More infractions or repeat offenders are subject to practice and game suspensions.

Jr.Icemen Travel Hockey Game Standards

  1. Arrival time is 60 minutes before game start time unless otherwise noted.
    (8U - 50 minutes)(7:00am start times or earlier - game arrival can be 45 minutes depending team/level and will be listed on your app)
  2. Warmup before games will be led by Coaches 45 minutes before game time.
  3. Players wear Jr.Icemen Game Jerseys and matching hockey socks for all games. Players should always bring both sets of black & white game and practice jerseys to games.
  4. All players dress in the locker room as a team and follow club locker room policies.
  5. 12U and older players should bring 2 sticks on the bench.
  6. Each player is responsible for their own water bottle.
  7. Players should have full equipment 10 minutes before the start time.
  8. Before the game, only team staff should be in the dressing room. Following the game, all team members and team staff spend 5 minutes in the locker room discussing the game.

Missing or Late for Team Event

Parents must notify the Team Head Coach if a player will be late or unable to make a team event. 24 hour notice is preferred. This can be done by marking the team attendance for each event. For a late arrival time, please use the team chat on teamsnap.
