Community First Igloo - General Manager Eddie Hawkins
The Community First Igloo is pleased to announce that Eddie Hawkins has been named General Manager of the facility.
“I am very excited to be joining the Icemen organization as General Manager of the Community First Igloo”, said Hawkins. “The Icemen have built such a tremendous reputation in the Jacksonville area and the Community First Igloo will be another huge step in growing ice sports in Northeast Florida. The Igloo will become a premier destination in the U.S. for guests of all ages by providing exceptional customer service and world class programming.”
Hawkins grew up in Meredith, NH and fell in love with the sport of hockey at an early age. He has been a lifelong Boston Bruins fan and grew up playing hockey through college. He graduated from Daniel Webster College in Nashua, NH with a degree in Sports Management in 2006, where he also played Goaltender for 3 years.
Hawkins brings fourteen years of experience as a general manager to the Igloo. Most recently, he spent six years with the Anaheim Ducks organization, where he oversaw the completion and operations of their new, 280,000 sq ft facility: Great Park Ice & FivePoint Arena, that officially opened in 2018. Hawkins also served as the general manager of Canlan Ice Sports, LLC from 2008-2016, serving their locations in Vineland, NJ, Chicago, IL and Fort Wayne, IN.
Eddie and his fiancé Nicole, now reside in the Riverside neighborhood of Jacksonville and are excited to become active participants within the community. They can’t wait to begin exploring all that the City of Jacksonville has to offer!
